Don’t Let Joint Pain Hold You Back.

Joint pain can be caused by arthritis, injuries, overuse, or inflammation, and it often affects major joints like the knees, shoulders, hips, and elbows. At Florida Spine & Pain Center, we begin with a detailed evaluation to uncover the root cause of your symptoms and recommend effective, personalized treatments to help you move and feel better – without relying on surgery or long-term medications.

Common Joint Pain Conditions We Treat

Our team treats a wide range of joint-related conditions impacting the hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, and other extremities.
Here are some of the most common causes of joint pain:

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and occurs when the protective cartilage that cushions joints gradually wears down over time. It can affect any joint but most often impacts the knees, hips, hands, and spine.

Symptoms include joint pain and stiffness, swelling around the joint, decreased range of motion, and pain that worsens with activity and improves with rest

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition that causes the immune system to mistakenly attack the lining of the joints, leading to chronic inflammation and joint damage.

Symptoms include persistent joint pain and swelling, warmth and redness at the joint, morning stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes, and fatigue or general malaise.

Bursitis

Bursitis occurs when the small fluid-filled sacs (bursae) that cushion bones, tendons, and muscles become inflamed. It commonly affects the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees.

Symptoms include achy or stiff joints, sharp pain with movement or pressure, swelling and redness in the affected area, or pain that worsens with repetitive motion.

Tendinitis

Tendinitis is inflammation or irritation of a tendon—the thick cords that attach muscle to bone. It’s often caused by repetitive movements or overuse and typically affects the shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, or heels.

Symptoms include pain or tenderness near a joint, swelling around the tendon, pain that worsens with activity, and stiffness or limited motion.

Joint Injury or Overuse

Sports injuries, accidents, or repetitive motion can strain or damage joints, leading to inflammation, pain, or instability.

Symptoms include sudden or worsening joint pain, a popping or grinding sensation, swelling, bruising, or warmth, and limited movement or joint weakness.
Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction

The sacroiliac (SI) joints connect the spine to the pelvis. Dysfunction or inflammation in these joints can lead to pain in the lower back, hips, or buttocks.

Symptoms include stiffness in the lower back or hips, pain on one or both sides of the lower back, pain that worsens with standing, walking, or climbing stairs, and discomfort when transitioning from sitting to standing.
